2008  Artworks International Announces Casting For:  RAILROAD MUSEUM OF LONG ISLAND

Riverhead Railroad Festival

The 2008 Riverhead Railroad Festival in August.   All acting will be done at the Riverhead Museum, Restoration Site, 416 Griffing Avenue,  Riverhead NY.  Gates open at 10:00am close at 4:00pm.

There will be a  schedule of "scenes" and the times for each "act" will be put in our handout program and posted on signs around the property.  Acting areas will be in front of/by the real-deal train cars, locomotives and back shop.

The actors/actress are responsible for 
creating their character.  The monologue should be no more than 12 to 15 minutes long. The Railroad Museum can supply background material for research and can/may find more by talking to real live trainmen.

ACTORS & ACTRESSES

The parts are as follows: 

Locomotive Engineer (steam or diesel)  Actor's choice to play either a steam or diesel locomotive engineer.

Passenger Train Conductor  Actor to play a train conductor

Pullman Porter Sleeping Car Attendant  Actor to play a sleeping car attendant (era specific for a black actor)

 

Rosie the Riveter  Actress to play a female who worked in the RR shops during WWII. 

Basic clothing like overalls, bandanas, and shoes are the talent's responsibility. Specialized clothing and accessories such as caps, hats, uniform jackets, lanterns, hand tools etc. are available from the Museum.
